Hello

Are you looking at being the best version of yourself despite your lived experience, then you are at the right place.

I am Heartwill Elewosi, MSc., a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, practicing in Calgary, Alberta. I am a Black African immigrant Psychologist.

I can understand what it means to carry the weight of multiple cultures.

To navigate systems that were not built with you in mind.

To be the strong one in your family, your community, your workplace, while quietly running out of room for your own history.

I have lived versions of these experiences. They shape how I show up in our sessions, with genuine curiosity, cultural humility, and deep respect for what it takes to finally say, I need support.

My Story

I have nearly a decade of hands-on experience across community mental health, shelters, residential care facilities, youth programs, and hospital settings. I work primarily with adults. I also have a particular commitment to working with BIPOC adults, immigrants, and people navigating the specific exhaustion of existing in spaces that were not designed for them. This is not a specialty I adopted. It is a reflection of who I am and who I believe deserves to find a therapist who already understands something about their culture before they walk through the door.

My areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, caregiver burnout, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and illness, grief and loss, cultural identity and systemic stress, life transitions, and compassion fatigue. I also offer couples counselling with a particular understanding of intercultural and bicultural partnerships.I draw from evidence-based, culturally informed frameworks including EMDR, CPT, EFT, DBT, ACT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing.

The approach always follows your lead. Services are available in person in Calgary and virtually across Alberta and Nova Scotia. A free 15-minute consultation is available to ask questions and determine if we would be a good fit.
