Group therapy can be a transformative experience for healing. We create an environment where people with similar concerns can connect, share their experiences, and support each other. At Counselling and Therapy Services,  group therapy sessions cover topics such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and navigating life changes.   Joining a group can help you feel a sense of belonging, reduce feelings of isolation, and gain insights from others who have gone through similar experiences.

Struggling with personal issues can be tough for children and teenagers. That's why we offer therapy sessions specifically tailored to their needs. Our evidence-based approach ensures that your child will be equipped with the tools they need to work through their problems.   With in-person and online sessions in both Alberta and Ontario, it's never been easier to access the support your child needs. ​ Note: For children younger than 16 we suggest working with the parents directly.

We offer specialized psychoeducational assessments to help individuals identify their academic strengths and weaknesses. Assessments are designed to comprehensively evaluate each person's learning style, cognitive abilities, and academic achievement.  We can help you or your loved one achieve academic success.

Workshops

Workshops and consultations are tailored to help individuals deal with various psychological issues. From trauma and PTSD to marital and premarital counseling, We're dedicated to providing personalized support to each and every client. With our guidance, you can learn to embody your emotions and overcome workplace stress to achieve a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.

For individuals who have experienced trauma like life transitions or PTSD, we offer therapy.  EMDR is a therapeutic approach that helps process traumatic memories and minimize their negative impact on your daily life. Our EMDR therapists are trained to provide evidence-based treatment that promotes healing and resilience.​We are dedicated to offering sensitive and inclusive therapy services for BIPOC individuals in Alberta and Ontario.  We respect the unique experiences and obstacles that individuals from BIPOC communities encounter. Ilera provides an environment where people can explore and heal. Our therapists are trained to address the needs and concerns of BIPOC individuals using culturally responsive approaches.

Is therapy covered by my benefits?

Many extended health care benefits cover therapeutic services provided by a registered professional. We can direct bill to Blue Cross and Greenshield. 

Are you LGBTQ friendly?

Yes, of course! All people must feel happy, loved, attached, and valued, regardless of gender or sexual preference. We value all people regardless of differences.

 

This includes differences in race, sexual identity, gender, ethnicity, culture, or any other factor. If you feel there are areas that make you and your struggle unique, we encourage you to contact us and discuss these concerns first to ensure you feel understood and comfortable.

How much does therapy cost?

We charge $220/hour of therapy - remember, we can directly bill your insurance company.

Sessions can range from 50 minutes for a regular session to 2 hours, depending on the services needed.

What assessments do you do?

PsychoEducational Assessment

PsychoEducational assessments/Educational Psychological (aka PsychEd or Ed Psych) Assessments help us to identify areas of strengths and weakness for a person in their learning. These assessments help us to answer questions about academic, emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioural functioning.

ADHD Assessment

With our Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessments, we provide thorough, comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, teens, and adults. ADHD Assessments assist us in providing you with personalized and specific recommendations/strategies to promote your self-efficacy, agency, and confidence to manage with ADHD at home, at work, and at school (as applicable).

Autism Assessment

One of our main tools of Assessment for Autism is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a standardized assessment tool that helps providers diagnose Autism in children and adults. The ADOS-2 involves a semi-structured play or interview session determined by the age and communication level of the individual.

Social - Emotional Assessments

A Social-Emotional evaluation is carried out with the purpose of gaining deeper insight into an individual's internal experiences by delving into their emotions, thoughts, coping strategies, and perceptions of both themselves and the world around them. This type of assessment is advised when an individual displays emotional challenges (like anxiety or depression) or behavioral concerns.

How can I access therapy?

Therapeutic services can be accessed as an individual (child, teenand adult), couple or as a family. Therapy can be accessed in person or virtually (Video or telephone).
